Update: The Dinks for Dogs donation has officially been delivered! Cathy, Caroline, and Laura presented the check to Melissa at the Otsego County Animal Shelter. It was the perfect conclusion to a fun evening of pickleball that brought our community together to support local animals in need. What an incredible evening for pickleball, community, and a great cause!
Our Dinks for Dogs Fundraising Tournament brought together 26 players from across the area, along with many generous supporters who donated even if they could not play. Together, the event raised nearly $1,000 for the Otsego County Animal Shelter.
We were especially pleased to have Missy FitzGerald, Director of the Otsego County Animal Shelter, join us during the event. She gave players a firsthand update on the shelter, talked about some of the needs they are currently facing, and shared how much this support means to the animals and staff. Her visit was a wonderful reminder of exactly why everyone had come together.

Dinks for Dogs was not a typical pickleball tournament. The games focused on the soft game—patient dinking, smart placement, and control—with players rotating partners throughout the evening. The format made for long rallies, plenty of laughs, and some friendly competition.
This amazing outcome was only possible because of the generous donations, participation, and support of everyone involved. The courts were full, the competition was lively, and the sense of community was even stronger.
Those who missed it missed a truly special night—but judging by the fun, laughter, and enthusiasm on the courts, this may need to become an annual event!
